What Makes AKCS Software Pro Ltd. Stand Out

Thanks for stopping by my blog. If you’re looking for more information about AKCS Software Pro Ltd., you’ve come to the right place.

About AKCS Software Pro Ltd.

I’m Ann Kurlovich, an accounting software trainer in Leduc, AB. My role is similar to a bookkeeper as I run courses on accounting software, train people on bookkeeping, and help with troubleshooting.

I started as a sole proprietor in 2012 and, in 2021, decided to incorporate. I tweaked my company’s path as I enjoyed helping people understand the “why” and “how” of doing their own books rather than the actual hands-on bookkeeping.

Since I have clients of all types, from one-person companies to big businesses with full accounting teams, my training can be as simple or as advanced as needed.

There are many businesses with 31st December year ends, so I provide more assistance during this time frame to ready them for compliance. I’m also kept on my toes in January and February, where I conduct courses on T4’s, T4A’s, and T5018’s.

I can run my courses and workshops from anywhere, so the bulk of my work is completed virtually. I love the freedom of working and accommodating clients’ needs while living a lifestyle that is not limited to my geographical location.

My client base is typically in Canada, but I have completed implementations and payroll on cruise ships, in Vegas, on Vancouver Island, in Toronto, in Chicago, and in a vehicle where I was a passenger.

The AKCS Software Pro Ltd. Difference

One aspect that sets me apart is that I make people feel comfortable by giving them the confidence to analyze financial information. It empowers them to do their own bookkeeping and make decisions directly impacting their business.

I accomplish this by speaking in simple English and explaining any terms they may not understand. Clients may not know much about bookkeeping or the software initially, but within twelve months, we are equals.

I have also discovered many local competitors copying my business model by merging software training with bookkeeping knowledge. However, I believe that imitation is the best form of flattery.

What also gives me the edge is that I’ve come from a competitive business world, which has made me a well-rounded advisor. My wealth of knowledge is more than bookkeeping and demonstrating transactions in accounting software.

Therefore, I will often use business scenarios that my client has not mentioned. However, it turns out they too have similar issues regarding inventory, job costing, and other higher-level accounting needs.

I also can relate to them as a business owner that went from being a sole proprietor to incorporating my enterprise. Many clients are either thinking about this change or going through the incorporation process, so I share my experience.

My approach has helped hundreds of people and allowed my reputation to become far better known in the industry. I now receive many referrals from “heavy hitters” in the software and accounting world.

During the last year, I have had Accounting Firm Partners contact me directly (not their employees) to inquire about rescue missions for their staff or assist their clients.

It would not have been possible without the dedicated support of my two employees, who have given me more time to evolve my courses and workshops. I’m also proud to have led a class at an accredited educational institution.

My dream for the future is to expand my reach with virtual training and coaching. Covid-19 has made the virtual side more acceptable in some ways, so I want to move more in that direction.

I have also discovered that not everyone works with Sage 50, QuickBooks Online, and QuickBooks Desktop, so I remain flexible.

In this endeavor, I stay up to date with technological changes, including payroll options, automation software, and e-commerce products that simplify transaction processing.

I also believe in giving back to society, and as part of that belief, I support local causes, and I’ve been a board member of a local non-profit for the past four years. I have completed work for non-profits (with a special rate) and also done many quick projects, Pro Bono. In addition, I sponsor fundraising events in my community.
